Covers his career in radio engineering: his early work on radio direction finders with the De Forest Company and Federal Telegraph Company; the founding of Fisher Laboratory in 1932; production of radio telephones for the U.S. Air Force duing World War II and of marine radio equipment after the war; also includes some reminisences on early school early school experiences an d experimentations with radio, as well as recollections of colleagues.

The Federal Telegraph Company was created in 1910, the same year it built its pioneering transmission tower on San Francisco's Ocean Beach.
